Welcome to the Salopian Lodge 262 website.

Salopian Lodge is a Masonic Lodge in the the Province of Shropshire,  under the United Grand Lodge of England and Wales.

The following pages give a history of the Lodge, since its foundation in 1788, details of the work carried out by the Lodge and information on the various members.

The Lodge meets at the Freemasons Hall, Crewe Street, Shrewsbury, every second Monday from October - April.

At the February meeting the Installation Ceremony takes place when a new Worshipful Master is installed.

What is Freemasonry?

Freemasonry is one of the world's oldest fraternal societies. The lessons Freemasonry teaches in its ceremonies are to do with moral values (governing relations between people) and its acknowledgement, without in any way crossing the boundaries of religion, that everything depends on the providence of God. Freemasons feel that these lessons apply just as much today as they did when it took its modern form at the turn of the 17th century."
